HOMELESS residents living on the streets of Birmingham can now receive a hot drink in mugs donated by a Dudley fostering agency.

Core Assets, Birmingham Road, launched its ‘cups for causes campaign’ to donate old branded mugs to charity, with Sifa Fireside recently benefiting from the collection.

The charity offers daily drop-in sessions to provide advice, support and a warm meal to the city’s alcohol dependant, homeless or socially excluded adults.

Mary Mantom, service delivery coordinator for Sifa Fireside, said: “The cups Core Assets have donated will help us continue to provide some home comforts to those in need and we are grateful for their support.”

Peter Battram, Midlands area manager, said: “Sifa Fireside do a fantastic job of supporting vulnerable adults and we hope our small donation will make a big difference to this worth-while cause.”
