5:00pm Saturday 31st August 2013 in Local
A COMMUNITY on a north Dudley housing estate is getting together to take on litter bugs in its neighbourhood.
The Ellowes Hall and area Tenants and Residents Association is organising a group of litter pick on Saturday 21 September at 9.30am.
The event, which will start from Ellowes Hall School, Stickley Lane, Lower Gornal will take place over four hours and the association is asking anyone who has some time to spare to meet at the school and join in. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
Councillor Steve Waltho, Dudley cabinet member for housing, said: “It is excellent to see the Ellowes Hall and area TRA arranging this litter pick on the estate, and shows the amount of pride they have for the area. This litter pick will help make the area a cleaner and safer place for all residents."
Bags, high visibility jackets, litter pickers and gloves will be provided for use, no unaccompanied children will be allowed.
