Praise for Brierley Hill man with a midas touch for charity
9:00am Sunday 29th September 2013 in Local
A BRIERLEY Hill man with a midas touch for raising charity cash helped a cancer group scoop more than £2,000.
Gurcharan Singh Bedi sold a whopping 800 tickets worth £406 for White House Cancer Support in their recent grand raffle, which generated £2,250 for the Dudley-based organisation.
Mr Bedi has been raising cash for White House over the last five years in memory of his wife who died from cancer in 2008.
Chris Barron, manager of The White House, said: "We are very grateful for support of Mr Bedi and everyone who sold or bought tickets for our raffle, it is fantastic to know that people can still support a local charity even during these difficult financial times.
"All money raised will ensure we can continue to provide emotional support, practical help and information for people with cancer and those who care about them in and around the Dudley Borough."
