A DUDLEY market trader has admitted trying to con a vulnerable mother out of more than £45,000 for decorating work.
Alan Nicholson who sells flowers on the market was remanded on bail by Judge Amjad Nawaz for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
The 51 year old who lives in Kingsbury Road, Erdington admitted two charges of fraud when he appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court.
The charges relate to false representation and involve Nicholson trying to get £45,145 from the mother-of-one when a fair price for the work would have been £6,750.
It is understood Nicholson who had a gambling problem agreed a fee to decorate each room in the woman's house but the amount gradually increased.
Nicholson will be back before the court in December when it is expected the case against him will be outlined in full by the prosecution.
