Final countdown begins for borough bonfire spectacular
1:00pm Sunday 3rd November 2013 in Local
THE final countdown is on for the 2013 big borough bonfire which this year promises to be out of this world.
The event, at Himley Hall, has an interplanetary soundtrack featuring music from Dr Who, Star Trek, Flash Gordon, Iron Man as backdrop to the fireworks display.
The show will be on Saturday November 9, gates will open at 4.30pm and Free Radio will be entertaining the crowd from 6.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm with the fireworks spectacular starting at 8.30pm.
Councillor Tracy Wood, Dudley cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The final touches are being made to our Himley Bonfire preparations, we’re expecting it to be a real hit with the thousands of people who come every year.
“We always encourage local families to come along and enjoy our impressive display, which avoids the mess, cost and risk of having fireworks at home.”
Tickets cost £9 for adults, £4.50 for juniors and senior citizens while under 5s are free. A family ticket for two adults and two children priced £23 while car parking is £3.
