Still time to nominate community Diamonds
5:00pm Sunday 29th December 2013 in Local
WEST Midlands Police are on the hunt for diamonds and there's still plenty of time to nominate a community heroes for an award.
The force has already received more than 250 nominations for next year's Diamonds Awards ceremony.
The annual awards were launched in 2012 to recognise and reward members of the police force and key members of the community that have made a significant contribution to helping make the West Midlands a safer place to live, work and visit.
Chief Constable Chris Sims said: "We are gearing up for an even bigger awards ceremony next year and I'm delighted to see the nominations pouring in already.
"Last year's awards were immensely successful with the deserving winners being recognised at a glamorous ceremony back in March.
"If you haven't already nominated someone for one of the prestigious awards there's still time to do so before the window closes at the end of the year."
Anyone can make a nomination for police officers, police staff, PCSOs or special constables across the range of 12 categories.
The categories are: Working in Partnership, Community Engagement, Excellence in Service Delivery, Driving Diversity, Welfare at Work, Leading Change, Creativity and Innovation, Inspirational Leadership, Putting the Public First, Team of the Year and Employee of the Year.
Nominations close on Tuesday (December 31).
Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony at the end of March where they will be presented with their awards.
