LATE night Stourbridge venue Moochers plans to put original acts high on the agenda for 2014.

Sarah Evans, director at Moochers - which has recently undergone an ownership change, said plans are afoot in the New Year to stage a regular showcase for up and coming Black Country bands and performers on Friday evenings.

She said: "We are working very closely with many local bands and we hear what they say loud and clear – they want a venue to perform at and work with and not be moved to midweek slots, so we will be doing exactly that.

“Stourbridge has a history of producing outstanding artists and we intend to showcase the next generation of great artists here at Moochers on Fridays."

Original acts already confirmed for 2014 include Silverwood, Lazy J, Isolated Atoms, Rubicava, The Rainbreakers, The Straight Aces, Primer, The Universal and Of Kings And Captains.

Rising Dudley band East Of Eden will also be holding their single launch night at Moochers, in New Road, on February 14.

A host of other headline and support slots are also still available for 2014. Any bands interested in performing should contact the venue directly on 01384 671141 or via website www.moochers.co.uk
