RAIL passengers are being warned to expect disruption today (Thursday February 13) after yesterday’s storms.

Virgin Trains is expecting delays on routes from Birmingham and Wolverhampton to northern England, north Wales and London.

Trees and power lines were brought down and flooding continues to affect the road and rail networks after the UK was hammered by heavy rain and winds over 100mph.

Forecasters say today will bring calmer weather before further storms arrive from the south west on Friday.
