POLICE have begun an investigation after contractors discovered buried human remains in Dudley town centre.
Cops were called to Castle Street near a church at around 2.40pm on March 4 when engineers working on road works reported uncovering an old grave and bones “buried a long time ago.”
Detective Sergeant Richard Narrowmore, from Dudley CID, said: “At this time there is nothing to suggest a crime has taken place and all indications are that this is an old burial ground.”
The BVlack Country coroner has been informed and police are working with Dudley Council to review old plans of the town.
