BOROUGH over 50s can enjoy a new lease of life now that Age UK Dudley Springboard has switched to new headquarters at The Waterfront in Brierley Hill.

The move from a small activity centre at Merry Hill and outreach centres at Brierley Hill Methodist Church and The Junction, Netherton, has been made possible through lottery funding and will bring together four separate centres under one roof.

As a result the centre, in Level Street, will be able to operate over 30 different activities every week ranging from Zumba, Tai-Chi and line dancing to drama, choir, photography and table tennis.

Springboard also stages monthly lunch, theatre and day trips, while also operating an internet cafe where guidance and help is available from volunteers.

Other benefits the new centre will be able to offer include holistic health and beauty therapies, while counselling services are available to anyone taking part in activities and courses.

The objective of Springboard is to encourage anyone over 50 to improve their health and physical wellbeing, while also helping to tackle isolation and loneliness.
