TWO Black Country men who were caught selling heroin and crack cocaine in Dudley have been locked up for more than five and half years.

Keith Bowen and Karl May were spotted by police in a car in Buffery Road and the officers saw a known drug addict get into the vehicle.

The two men were then searched and Bowen was found to have two packages hidden down his trousers containing 25 wraps of heroin and 11 of crack cocaine.

They were in £10 deals and the class A drugs were valued at a total of £360, said Joanne Barker prosecuting, while Bowen also had £85 cash in his possession.

The drug dealing was a joint enterprise, she added, with May after cash to repay a drug debt while Bowen had been promised drugs to fuel his own habit.

Recorder Denis Desmond said Bowen had clearly been acting as a "minder" for May but he accepted both men were now desperate to stop using class A drugs.

Bowen, aged 38, of Whitehall Road, Great Bridge, admitted possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and he was jailed for 28 months.

May of Holcroft Road, Tipton, admitted supplying the two controlled drugs and he was put behind bars for 40 months by the recorder.

Andrew Baker, defending May, told Wolverhampton Crown Court his arrest was a "wake up" call and he was now seeking treatment for his £20 a day drug habit.

Jas Mann, for Bowen said: "He wants to deal with the addiction that has ravaged his life."
