STOURBRIDGE based Dramaworkshop Arts School are set to display their theatrical skills at Dudley's Evolve Theatre next month.

They will feature in a Spring Showcase which takes place with two performances on Sunday, May 11 at 1-30pm and 5pm.

Around 120 school members which ranges from seven up to 18 years old will perform a huge variety of scenes comprising of comedy, drama, children's classics to a Greek tragedy.

Dramaworkshop founder Esther Stanford set up the group in 2010 and claimed: "There was nothing like this for children in the area and it has proved very popular.

"They get experience in all different media, including stage fighting, improvisation, film production, script writing and make-up.

"Due to our links within the industry, members get professional castings and auditions, some of which have landed roles in BBC's Line of duty and Doctors.

"We are a stepping stone for young people with talent who want to make a career in the performing arts, but what we teach also equips them with the skills for life in whatever profession they choose.

"The Spring Showcase gives them the chance to display their talent to a wider audience.
