Stourbridge sight loss charity to stage coffee morning

STOURBRIDGE based Pocklington Resource Centre is staging a coffee morning next Friday May 9 for those care for people with sight loss to attend.
Situated at the Mary Stevens Centre in Oldswinford, the Pocklington Centre specialises in supporting people with sight loss by offering a range of activities and help.
Now the centre is eager to spread the word about its facilities and what it has to offer.
Development manager Ann Evett said: "The purpose of the coffee morning is to show people the work we do and to raise awareness of our organisation.
"Sight loss affects an enormous amount of people - not just those living with sight loss - but their families too.
"Our role is vital in helping support those who suffer sight loss and our centre offers an opportunity for people to make new friends, develop new interests and reduce the risk of social exclusion."
The coffee morning takes place from 11am to 1pm when visitors can discover what technology is available to make every daily tasks that much easier.
They can also find out about social and sport groups, the day centre and home visiting service together with details of the Black Country Talking Newspaper and magazine in addition to the carers' support service.
The resource centre is open five days a week from 9am until 4pm.
