HUNDREDS of people are expected to stroll through the heart of the Black Country tomorrow (Sunday) as they take part in the famous Borough Trail.

Walkers will set off from Dudley Leisure Centre, Wellington Road and tackle a trail of their choice, all of which will pass many of the borough’s iconic landmarks.

The event is suitable for people of all ages and there are five main routes with distances between six to 26 miles.

John Millar, Dudley Council’s director of urban environment, said: “The Borough Trail is one of our most popular events because it gives people the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and some of the sights of the Dudley borough.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed for some great weather and look forward to seeing people enjoying themselves on the day.”

Checkpoints are strategically placed along each of the routes to ensure the well-being and whereabouts of walkers and light refreshments are available.

Everyone who completes a trail receives a certificate of achievement.

People still have the chance to enter on the day, from 7.30am, with fees ranging from £1.50 to £3.

Walks start between 8am and 11am.
