DUDLEY’S bishop checked out the new headquarters for a charity which feeds 22,000 Black Country folk each year.

The Black Country Foodbank has now completed a move to The Storehouse in Albion Street, Brierley Hill and the Rt Revd Graham Usher called in earlier this month to see the premises for himself.

During his first weeks in his new job Rev Usher has been touring the region to learn how community projects are helping vulnerable people.

He said "Foodbank is a really simple way for the church and community to offer the hand of compassion to their neighbours when they need it most, through both food provision and the ongoing support offered by partner agencies.

“Black Country Foodbank rely entirely on donations and are currently facing shortages of tinned fruit, tinned tomatoes and pasta sauce. We really need to support this worthy cause with donations”
