WORCESTERSHIRE Wildlife Trust will be raising a glass or two to local brew Nightjar which could prove a welcome money-spinner for the organisation.

Bromsgrove based Bird's Brewery have promised to donate 2p for every bottle and 2.8p from every pint sold to help fund the Trust's conservation work across the county.

Trust volunteer Matthew Lissimore from Brierley Hill designed the label for the beer's pump-clip and bottles which launched earlier this month.

Already the brew has been hailed a huge success and the Trust's communications manager Wendy Carter said: "They've already sold out their first batch, but there's no end date to the deal. As long as people keep buying Nightjar, they'll keep brewing it."

Beer drinkers can enjoy a taste of Nightjar at two of the brewery pubs, the Admiral Rodney in Berrow Green or the Ladybird Inn at Bromsgrove.

They can also obtain bottles from the brewery's own shop in Old Burcott Lane.

Wendy Carter added: "Our Business Development officer Delia Shannon approached a number of local breweries and Bird's proved to be brilliant. It also helps that the name goes down well with the Wildlife Trust."
