CARERS across the borough are being asked to take part in a survey to share their views on training opportunities available to them.

Dudley Council is leading on a project to look at what appropriate training is available for people caring for an adult relative or friend with a long term illness or disability.

Carers are being asked to complete the survey and tell the council what they think of the training that is currently available and to identify what training they may like available in the future. Hundreds of carers have already completed the survey.

Andrea Pope-Smith, director of adult, community and housing services, said: β€œIt’s essential we understand what will help carers fulfil their role in looking after their loved ones.

"Carers rights are changing with the introduction of the new Care Bill so the results of this survey will help us prepare how we respond to those changes and continue to support the vital work of carers.”

To complete the survey, visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/Carerstraining before June 16.
