POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to trace after a woman needed 13 stitches when she was hit on the head with a bottle in Dudley.
The assault occurred on Dixons Green Road in Kates Hill, on Wednesday January 29, just after 1am.
The woman, aged 56, had met her attacker for a drink in Dudley town centre but events took a turn when he struck her with a bottle later the same evening in an apartment block stairwell.
The man is described as black, aged between 18 and 22, slim build, 5 ft 7 inches tall with short black afro hair and wearing a zipped up purple Nike top in the CCTV image.
DC Deborah Hickinbottom, from force CID, said: "Officers have carried out local inquiries including house to house as well as CCTV examination in the area.
"We are keen to trace the man from these CCTV images and would ask anyone who knows his identity and his whereabouts to call Force CID on 101."
