THE family of a Quarry Bank man who was killed in a car crash in Netherton, have spoke of their heartache.

Timothy Pearson, aged 23, was a passenger in a Nissan Skyline car that ploughed into a garden wall in St Peters Road at around 9.20pm on Tuesday evening (June 3).

Despite the best efforts of members of the public and ambulance crews, he was confirmed dead at the scene.

The 28-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious chest injuries and a fractured jaw.

Following the tragedy, Tim's family said: "What can we say about Tim? He was cheeky, sarcastic, loyal, always smiling, always singing and dancing, always had a smile on his face no matter what.

"He was the best son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin and friend anyone could ask for. The 23 years and ten-and-a-half months he was with us were the best of our lives.

"The pain we are feeling now will never leave us nor our memories of Tim. He was full of energy, he couldn’t keep still but we loved every annoying thing about him."

PC Paul Cope from the Collision Investigation Unit said investigations into the cause of the collision were ongoing.

He added: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened.

"Our thoughts and sympathies remain with Tim’s family at this difficult time."

Witnesses are urged to call police on the non-emergency number 101.
