DUDLEY North MP Ian Austin is calling for a lasting memorial to a borough war hero who saved ten thousand Jews.
Spy Frank Foley was a passport control officer in Nazi Germany who aided the escape of Jews from persecution and deportation to concentration camps.
After the war he retired to live in Stourbridge and, following a government initiative to establish a permanent Holocaust memorial, Mr Austin says it’s time for a statue in the borough to commemorate Major Foley’s heroism.
