A TEAM of talented teenagers have brightened up the walls of a Brierley Hill music venue with their artwork.

Staff at Vagabonds on Dudley Road, asked art students at Old Swinford Hospital, Stourbridge, to produce artwork for the club using musical legends as inspiration.

A number of students presented their ideas to the club's staff but only four were successful - Finlay Robinson, aged 16, Matthew Stark and Jack Phillips, both 15 and 17-year-old Megan Brain.

They soon picked up the spray paint, stencils and ultra violet paint to transform the walls of the club with art depicting stars including David Bowie, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.

Jordan Wilde from Vagabonds said: “The artwork is amazing and has totally transformed our club. It’s great to see such professional artwork from young people for young people to enjoy.”

Jemima Brown, head of art at the school, added: “The scale of the artwork produced is staggering. The quality in daylight and under ultra-violet light has been created to a very professional standard."
