DUDLEY people are being urged to help ensure taxi drivers stick to new regulations on vehicle markings.
Under new rules which came into force on June 1 all taxis licensed in the borough must display door stickers as part of a change in regulations which lifted colour restrictions on private hire vehicles.
Councillor Richard Body, chairman of the Dudley Council’s taxis committee, said: "Colour restrictions on vehicles have been lifted and the new stickers and signs will be on display on all vehicles. Any driver who does not have the stickers will be in breach of the taxis rules and will be asked to appear before the taxis committee.”
Anyone with information on hackney carriages and private hire vehicles in Dudley which are failing to show the correct door stickers should call the council's licensing team on 01384 815377.
