A TEENAGER from Dudley got a taste of life in the fast lane with help from a kind-hearted good Samaritan.

Alisha Jarrett’s dream came true when she took a spin in a £100,000 Aston Martin Rapide V12 with businessman Colin Jones at the wheel.

The trip in the 185mph car for the 14-year-old from Uplands Road was organised by the Wishing Well project at Russells Hall Hospital which makes dreams come true for patients.

Project organiser Steve Ford arranged the visit after Alisha spent time on the children’s ward at Russells Hall being treated for a burst appendix.

The Holly Hall Academy pupil shed tears of joy at the car’s surprise arrival at the school to take her, along with her sister, ten-year-old Ellie, and Alisha’s best friend Emily Smith, aged 14, for a spin.

Alisha is taking to a different form of transport for a charity bike ride to raise cash for Mary Stevens Hospice.

The sponsored cycle ride will be over a 32-mile route from Canal Street, Stourbridge, to Stourport on Sunday July 13 starting at 1pm.

The ride will be at a leisurely pace and people are invited to join-in by paying a £5 donation.
