A DOG has been found hanged from metal railings just yards from a Dudley primary school.

An RSPCA officer was called to the grim discovery at around 2am on June 28 after a member of the public reported the animal was “nailed to a wall”.

Inspector Dave McCartney, from the charity, attended the scene to find the lifeless body of a male Staffie/Mastiff cross which was hanged by the metal chain on Bishop Close near Kates Hill Primary School.

Inspector McCartney said: “There is no doubt that this was a deliberate act. Whoever has done this has lowered the dog over the fence and pulled the chain up and fixed it to the railings above.

“We won’t know all of the physical details about this dog’s death until after the post-mortem results come in, but there is no doubt in my own mind that this dog would have suffered.

“We want to find the owner, but we also really need to find whoever was responsible for killing this dog in such an horrific way.”

The dead animal is believed to be no more than two-years-old and was not microchipped.

Anyone who knows who owns the dog, or has information about how the animal met its death, should contact the RSPCA’s inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
