A HALESOWEN care home is putting on a variety show in Netherton this weekend.

The music and dance club at Halas Homes have been busy rehearsing for the show at Netherton Arts Centre on Sunday between 4pm and 7pm.

Halas Homes is a residential care home for adults with learning difficulties.

Marion Frost, from Halas Homes, said: "We’re still trying to break into showbiz after our performance at the Birmingham REP last year so members of our performing arts group together with our music club and dance club will be putting on a show at Netherton Arts Centre.

She added: "We are delighted that Black Country comedienne Marlene Watson will be making a guest appearance."

Mrs Frost believes events like the variety show are vital for the residents of Halas Homes.

She said: "We are a charity and our fundraising activities are very important as they enable us to provide interesting and stimulating opportunities for residents and clients of Halas Homes to socialize and interact with the local community.

"This is of enormous benefit in giving confidence and a sense of achievement to all who participate."
