A PREMATURE Black Country baby dubbed 'the girl who couldn't wait' has become an internet sensation.

More than 22,000 people are regularly logging on to Facebook to follow the progress of Daisy-Mae Little, who was born three-and-a-half months early at Russells Hall Hospital in December last year.

Her father, Wayne Little, regularly posts photographs and updates on the social network site and has been overwhelmed with the support that has flooded in from all over the world.

He said since the Pensnett tot, who spent 108 days in hospital, was featured in national newspapers at the weekend, the Facebook page had received an additional 7,000 likes.

Wayne told the News the youngster, who weighed just 1lb 13ozs when she was born, is now "blooming" and added: "She's still putting on weight and now weighs 11lbs 2oz."

Daisy-Mae was set to join Wayne and his wife Jennie, on the Good Morning Britain sofa this week as they spoke about her fight for survival.

Sadly for Wayne, who was looking forward to meeting his "secret idol" Susanna Reid, the appearance on the ITV breakfast show was cancelled due to a full schedule.

He had hoped to plug 'Little Daisy-Mae - The Girl Who Couldn't Wait', a book featuring his frequent Facebook posts, photographs and heartfelt personal diary entries, ahead of its release in September.

For every copy pre-ordered, publishers will donate £1 to a charity of Wayne and Jennie's choice.
