POLICE hunting a man in connection with an assault on a bus in Dudley have released a CCTV image of the suspect.

The incident happened on a number 87 bus at around 7.40pm on May 31 in the town’s bus station.

The suspect got on to the bus at the same time as the 20-year-old victim and sat next to her despite there being a number of empty seats.

He leaned over and touched her leg and then refused to move even though she shouted at him. She forced her way past the man and reported the incident to the driver before getting off the bus and informing the police.

The offender is described as Asian man, around five-feet-eight, in his late 30s, with short messy black hair. CCTV shows him wearing a black tracksuit top with white stripes, a white cap and carrying a black bag.

The case is being investigated by the Project Empower team from West Midlands Police’s Public Protection Unit (PPU) which works as part of the Safer Travel Partnership to fast-track enquires into complaints like sexual touching, lewd comments and indecent exposure.
