A RECENTLY revamped golf centre in Sedgley is putting on an open day to raise funds for charity.

All funds from the tomorrow's event (Saturday) at The Mark Butler Golf Academy in Sandyfield Road, will go to Beacon Centre for the Blind.

The event will tee off at 10am with West Midlands MEP and Sedgley councillor Bill Etheridge cutting the ribbon.

Entry is free and fun-filled activities for all the family include free rounds of golf, taster junior golf sessions, tri-golf, bouncy castle, arts and crafts and refreshments in the new café.

Nicky Butler, managing director of the academy, said: “We want the golf centre to be a place for everyone to enjoy – we really want to be a community base.

“We work with local schools, charities and people with disabilities, and everyday people and we passionately believe that golf can be used to bring the community together.”

Cllr Etheridge added: “I am honoured to have been invited to officially tee off things at the open day.

“The Mark Butler Golf Academy is a family-run business who took over the Sedgley Golf Centre in January this year and want to contribute to the wider community of Sedgley with their facilities.”
