PEOPLE across Dudley borough are invited to a service of healing taking place at Worcester Cathedral next month.

The Rt Rev Dr John Inge, Bishop of Worcester, will lead the service taking place at 2pm on Saturday October 4, which will feature guest preacher the Rt Rev Dominic Walker, who is the former Bishop of Monmouth and well-respected in the ministries of healing and deliverance.

The service, which starts at 2pm and is open to people across the Worcester Diocese, is part of a festival of healing taking place in the cathedral on that date and will include individual prayer ministry and anointing for those who wish it.

There will also be a number of stands from Christian healing ministries and ahead of the service, at 10am, Bishop Dominic will give a talk based on the text "By His wounds you have been healed" which will be followed by coffee and a discussion.

Dr Michael Harper, part of the diocesan health and healing group which organises the annual event, said: “There is great interest in healing ministry - we all get sick at some time or another, and so do our friends and family.

"And at least 20 per cent of the Gospels is devoted to the healing ministry of Jesus. Yet getting healed clearly isn't like getting something from a slot machine. Our wariness about being disappointed often discourages us from seeking healing through prayer, whether for ourselves or for others.

"But the bible encourages us to pray and we hope this festival will be a place where we can talk about the issues together and encourage each other.”

Anyone wishing to attend the morning workshop, which has a £5 admission fee to cover expenses, should emailtraining@cofe-worcester.org.uk
