A 24-year-old disqualified Black Country driver has admitted causing the death of a Dudley pensioner by driving dangerously.
Kile Straker who had no licence or insurance was trying to undertake on the busy Stafford Road at Wolverhampton when he hit 74-year-old cyclist George Searle.
The impact caused Mr Searle, a retired printer who lived in Gornal to fall from his bike, he suffered serious injuries and later died in hospital.
Emma Wynne-Owen from the Crown Prosecution Service said that after the collision Straker drove off to try and escape the fact he should not have been driving on a public highway but he was quickly traced by police.
Straker of Armstrong Drive, Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton admitted causing death by dangerous driving and he was remanded on bail for a pre-sentence report.
It is expected Straker who was driving a Seat car at the time of the offence will be sentenced when he returns to the crown court on November 10.
