NEEDY Dudley families will get a brighter Christmas thanks to the generosity of borough supermarket shoppers.

Visitors to Sainsbury’s stores in Merry Hill and Amblecote donated more than 180 toys and gifts for a Christmas party hosted by Dudley Council’s Family and Adolescent Support Team (FAST).

The gifts were handed over to FAST manager Wendy Westwood on December 10 at the end of a nationwide Sainsbury’s annual appeal to collect gifts for good causes.

Sainsbury’s Amblecote store manager, Kevin Healy, said: “We thank our customers at Amblecote and Merry Hill stores once again for getting behind this good cause and donating gifts in support of the impressive work of Dudley’s family and adolescent support team.”
