YOUNGSTERS at a Dudley primary school will have a silent night this Christmas after their festive show was cancelled.
Children at Jesson’s CE Primary School were due to perform their Now That’s What I Call Christmas show at Dudley Town Hall on Thursday December 18.
However the venue has been closed following the discovery of cracks in the plaster of the ceiling.
Organisers have been unable to find another concert hall big enough to accommodate the show’s 175 performers including singers from the school and Fusion Rock, Dudley’s biggest rock/pop choir.
Joanna Roden, Fusion Rock conductor and a teacher at the School Street campus, said: “We have been practising for weeks: this is our favourite concert of the year, and it was going to be our best ever. I am heartbroken to have to cancel, but we have no alternative.”
