VISITORS and keepers were having flippin’ good fun today (Tuesday January 20) at Dudley Zoo which has been celebrating Penguin Awareness Day.
The zoo is home to the UK's largest colony of parent-reared rare Humboldt penguins who were today proving the star attraction.
Jill Hitchman, head of media and communications at the zoo, said: "Penguins are always near the top of our visitors' To See list and Penguin Bay with its glass viewing panels at poolside, plus a beach, has proved one of our most successful exhibits since its launch two years ago.
"The walkthrough offers members of the public a chance to get really close to these busy little characters and our daily talks and feeds at Penguin Bay are always popular."
The zoo, which is home to 60 Humboldt penguins, holds talks and feeds at Penguin Bay every day at 3pm.
