A DUDLEY man was arrested following a dramatic police chase where officers used a Taser and CS spray to subdue him.
Aaron Anslow is accused of drink driving and assaulting a police officer whilst resisting arrest following an incident on January 18.
Police were called to reports of a Mercedes Vito van being driven on the wrong side of Halesowen Road, Netherton.
Witnesses told officers the driver was seen to fall from the vehicle before continuing along Baptist End Road, where police began to follow the van.
Officers followed the van into Park Road where Anslow, aged 29, from Four Winds Road, was chased from the vehicle.
He allegedly punched a police officer who was attempting to arrest him and then escaped despite being hit with an electric shock from a police Taser gun.
The chase continued and Anslow was arrested, following the use of CS spray, and taken into police custody, where he was charged with driving whilst above the alcohol limit, using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving whilst disqualified and two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest.
Anslow appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court earlier today (January 20) and was remanded on bail.
