POLICE have revealed shocking CCTV pictures of a Black Country robber and his criminal accomplice forcing their way into a vulnerable victim’s home.

Donovan Wilson, aged 19, formerly from Sedgley, and Aston Davis, aged 21, of no fixed abode, both pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court to two robberies which took place on August 7 2014.

West Midlands Police have released video footage of one of the incidents where three women were threatened with a knife.

The two robberies were immediately linked to one another and officers attending the scene quickly identified Wilson and Davies from CCTV from one of the raids.

Detectives carried out extensive inquiries to trace the pair − including several public appeals − until they were both apprehended in October: Davis by police officers in Wolverhampton and Wilson at an address in Derby.

On January 15 Wilson, who was living in of Coventry Court, Stafford at the time of his arrest after four months on the run, was given a 14-and-a-half-year sentence for his crimes while Davies was handed ten years behind bars.

Detective Constable James Ashcroft led the hunt for Wilson and Davies. He said: "We are satisfied these dangerous robbers − who were prepared to use serious violence against defenceless and vulnerable people − are now locked up for a considerable amount of time.

"Their lengthy sentences should reassure their victims and the wider public that justice has been served, helping them feel safer in their homes.

"We also hope this case sends a clear message to criminals who think they can evade capture from our officers that you can run - but you can’t hide - and when we do catch up with you, you will feel the full force of the criminal justice system."

Wilson, also admitted two additional offences: a street robbery in Wolverhampton in 2013 and taking a vehicle from the Tipton robbery which was later involved in a collision.
