A SEDGLEY man who used cannabis to control his anger management issues has been locked up for six months.

Wolverhampton Crown Court was told James Hyde, aged 25, had been using the controlled drug since he was 12 years of age and he felt it helped keep him calm.

Stephen Hamblett, for Hyde, said his client had also supplied drugs to family and friends over a short period of time.

When police officers raided his home they discovered a small quantity of drugs together with drug dealing paraphernalia including sealable bags and a cutting agent.

Emma Wynn-Owem, prosecuting, said officers also found one cannabis plant being carefully cultivated in the Dudley Road premises.

Recorder Stephen Thomas told Hyde: “The presence of the cutting agent indicates a level of industry and sophistication on your part.

“The supply of class B drugs even to friends and colleagues is extremely serious and only custody can be justified.”

Hyde admitted cultivating cannabis, possessing a quantity of cannabis and possessing a class B drug with intent to supply.

The Recorder said police went to the home of Hyde on and found drugs and dealing paraphernalia. Then, when they went back a short time later, they again found evidence of drug dealing.

“It seems to me this is at the serious end of supplying drugs to friends and colleagues,” said the Recorder.
