Sad end to Gornal horse rescue
A FOUR-year-old horse had to be put down after becoming trapped in mud and water yesterday.
Firefighters were called to a field in Brick Kiln Lane, Gornal Wood, close to junction with Himley Road at 5.42pm where they discovered the horse which was up to his waist in water.
But despite using specialist lifting gear to release the horse, it had to be put down following a veterinary inspection.
