PEOPLE are being encouraged to put down the chocolate and get fit in Dudley during the Easter holidays.

Dudley Council is hosting a Let’s Feel Good! entertainment day at the Churchill Shopping Centre on April 10, giving people the chance to have fun while they shop.

Drop-in activity classes for all ages will take place from 10am to 3pm, with adult and junior bootcamps, volleyball, kettlebell workouts and rowing machine challenges.

Free face painting will be on offer for youngsters while adults will be able to access healthy living information and advice and find out more about Dudley Leisure Centre and the parks and green spaces in the borough.

Everyone who attends can make the most of specialist help and support on stopping smoking, managing their weight, sensible drinking, healthy eating and managing long-term health conditions.

People can also pick up advice on fitness, along with information on activities, classes and memberships at Dudley Leisure Centre.

There will also be competitions for adults and children, with fabulous prizes for all ages.

Deborah Harkins, chief officer for health and wellbeing at Dudley Council, said: “We had some fabulous feedback from the Dudley Sunday fun day, which took place in February half-term, and this is the next Love Your Community event for the town centre.

“At the council we are investing heavily in our Let’s Get programme, which encourages people to be active and healthy and we saw this event as an ideal opportunity to show people how they can have fun in the borough, rain or shine.

“The day will be an opportunity for children and adults to have free holiday fun while also having the chance to pick up useful information. My only advice is to remember to bring your trainers.”

Everyone who attends the event will be given a free seven day pass for Dudley Leisure Centre.
