PEOPLE are invited to unlock the hidden gems of the sprawling grounds of Himley Hall and Park on a series of free tours this spring.

Dudley Council’s historic hall is hosting a number of events including walks and a tour for wheelchair users from April 22 to May 27.

It starts with A Walk Through Time, led by geologist Graham Worton to uncover secrets from 310 million years ago on April 22 from 6pm.

South Staffs Explorer is a 10 kilometre stroll through Himley and Baggeridge Parks via the South Staffs Railway Walk, and takes place on April 29, from 2pm.

An easy access trail takes place at 2pm on May 16, giving wheelchair users the opportunity to get a guided tour of the grounds and learn about the fascinating history of Himley.

A guided walk of the grounds at 10am on May 24 will allow people to take in the architectural features of the hall and later that day, there will be a band concert in the park from 2.30pm to 5pm, where people can relax in the grounds and enjoy a picnic.

Children can take part in a scavenger hunt on May 27 from 11am to 3pm, which includes worksheets and searching for natural items in the park.

Booking for all events is essential by calling 01384 817817.
