FOUR legged friends are invited to take part in a new doggie training course at Dudley's Priory Park.

The sessions will take place every Saturday from 10am to 11am for puppies aged up to six months, who have completed their course of vaccinations.

Another session will run from 11am to 12noon for dogs older than six months.

Led by the Kennel Club, the activities are open to dogs of all ages and breeds and cover behavioural training, obedience, tricks and exercise.

The classes, which cost £1 per week, enable dogs to work through four different courses, from puppy foundation level up to bronze, silver and gold standard.

It’s hoped they will promote the health benefits of owning a dog while enabling dog owners to meet like minded people.

John Millar, acting strategic director for environment, economy and housing at Dudley Council said: “There are many health benefits to owning a dog as they encourage us to walk more and often help us to socialise with others.

“These courses are designed to help improve pet behaviour in the beautiful green spaces of Priory Park.”

Adults and children of all abilities are welcome to attend and should meet at the park's tennis courts on Priory Road.
