THE new principal of a Dudley school has vowed to deliver a "first class education to all students" regardless of their ability or background.

Rob Hatch has arrived at Holly Hall Academy from The Grange School in Shrewsbury, which he successfully pulled out of special measures.

But the 46-year-old is no stranger to borough schools, his first teaching job was at Thorns School and Community College in Brierley Hill in 1994.

Throughout his career Mr Hatch also taught in Wolverhampton for 12 years and was vice principal of an academy in Cannock for three years.

Mr Hatch said he believes his previous experience will allow him to bring "a clear understanding of school improvement" to the role.

He added: "Holly Hall is a really special place with vibrancy, warmth and a wonderful atmosphere. I am delighted to have secured the position and have been counting the days to start.

"I am really looking forward to building on the recent improvements in partnership with the staff, parents, students, governors and wider community which Holly Hall serves."
