A SCHEME that encourages integration in the Black Country by organising fun, free day trips has a shortage of families willing to take part.

The Black Country Integration Project matches together families from different cultures based on the ages of their children and then sends them on a day out to get to know each other.

Rachael Taylor, project founder, said she is currently struggling to find matches as it is mostly Asian families that have expressed an interest, so is encouraging families from other cultural background to get involved.

She continued: “It is a great opportunity for families to have a free, fun day out and at the same time, learn more about another culture.”

Families who have participated so far have enjoyed days out at Drayton Manor and Rays Farm in Bridgnorth, thanks to funding from the Big Lottery.
