THE Emporium is bringing the glamour of the yesteryear to Brierley Hill.

Chic, unique and antique - the retro and vintage shopping experience has it all, with 20 independent traders all under one roof.

Within weeks of opening, the Dudley Road business has attracted hundreds of shoppers keen to bag a quirky bargain.

In addition to two storeys of stalls selling clothes, accessories, handmade craft items from decades gone by, free knit and natter sessions are held in its tea parlour.

Traders have also built a relationship with Victoria Lodge Care Home in Bent Street and residents suffering with dementia are frequent visitors to the Emporium, where they enjoy nostalgic tea parties.

Tommy Cook, who sells a range of glassware, crockery and movie memorabilia from his stall Tommy's Treasures, said he was "excited" to be part of the new venture.

The 57-year-old who lives in Pensnett said: "I was on a waiting list for a similar place in Shropshire when I came here as a customer just before Christmas I saw there was a stall available and the rest as they say, is history.

"We've had a really good response and have built up quite a following on social media and all of the traders are really positive and enthusiastic about the future."
