A DUDLEY student nurse who got the running bug while trying to shed the pounds has completed her second marathon in just over four years.
Lizzie Lodge, who lost a massive seven stone from her 17-and-a-half stone frame through long-distance running and healthy eating, was among thousands of charity runners taking on the 2016 London Marathon on Sunday (April 24).
The 28-year-old, who completed the Chester Marathon in 2014, said: “It was the most amazing but hardest experience of my life. The crowds were amazing and running over Tower Bridge was out of this world.”
Lizzie, of Churchward Close, Penfields, Stourbridge, has also topped her target of raising £1,000 for the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where she works as a student nurse.
She added: “I’m very happy. The money is going to a great cause.”
