A CLASSIC car insurance specialist based in Dudley has raised £1,430 for Marie Curie.
Footman James handed over the cash to the Morris Minor Owner Club, who are supporting the charity by travelling from from John O' Groats to Land's End to mark its 40th anniversary.
The challenge started on September 2 and will finish on October 1 but along the way, the club will visit all of its UK branches, as well as additional locations that have been significant to the history of the car and the development of the club since it began in 1976.
On September 14, a 1962 Morris Minor made a brief pit stop at its long standing insurance partner, Footman James' Castlegate Way headquarters, to collect the cheque and meet local club members and the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Mohammed Hanif and his wife, Zabeda Khanam.
Staff members had raised the funds by doing their own version of the challenge by clocking up the miles on an office exercise bike and holding a bake sale.
The insurance brokers also insured the 1962 Morris Minor on its journey and donated £1 for every new and renewed Morris Minor policy during June, July and August.
David Bond, director at Footman James, said: "We are happy to support our partners on such an epic journey in a vehicle that is over 50-years-old and help them celebrate their anniversary whilst in the process of raising money for such a worthwhile cause – we wish them well and the remainder of their travels."
