A FORMER Dudley councillor denied making indecent photographs of children when he appeared before a judge at Wolverhampton Crown Court today (Thursday).
Derrick Hemingsley, a former Labour councillor for the Wordsley area, was remanded on bail until October 2 when his trial is scheduled to begin.
The 56-year-old, of Penzer Street, Kingswinford, spoke only to confirm his name during the 20-minute hearing in front of Judge Amjad Nawaz.
It is alleged Hemingsley committed the offence between August 6 2013 and November 7 2015.
Robert Price, prosecuting, told the court it was expected his trial would last for over four days.
Hemingsley was allowed bail by the judge on condition he has no contact with children under 16 and no contact with the two alleged victims in the case.
