A TALENTED Sedgley teenager has been busy in the recording studio, lending his vocals to a charity album.

Bradley Turner was asked to perform on Building Bridges by autism campaigner Anna Kennedy and Birmingham singer/songwriter Aaron Yorke.

The 19-year-old is one of eight vocalists with autism who feature on the nine-track CD, which will be launched at a star-studded bash at London's Hard Rock Cafe on February 20.

He said: "The experience was great for me because recording is something I want to do, so to have this opportunity to learn new skills was phenomenal.

"I did one solo song, I usually sing in classical and operatic styles, so it was a challenge at first because this is a more relaxed kind of pop song.

"Once I got into it though, I really enjoyed it and am pleased with how it turned out.

"Aaron wrote the song, but we did share ideas about the harmonies and certain bits of the track. It only took a couple of days to record, then Aaron did the rest. He's a genius."

Bradley said recording an original song was "amazing" but getting together with the other artists to record a group track was "the best part", adding: "This is when we all formed such a bond. It's great to be with people who understand each other."

The teen said he is"really looking forward" to the album launch, where he will perform to a room of celebrities, including Arlene Philips, Danielle Lloyd and Robin Windsor.

"It's going to be at a great venue and I know it's going to be a top night for us all," he said.

Proud mum Sarah Welch added: "I am so thrilled for Bradley to be given this opportunity. Too often individuals on the spectrum are overlooked, underestimated and not given the support they need to achieve.

"I am grateful beyond words to Anna Kennedy and Aaron Yorke and I'm truly excited for Bradley to be performing at this iconic venue."

All proceeds raised from CD sales will go to Annakennedyonline, to help the charity to continue to raise awareness of autism.
