THE Red House Glass Cone at Wordsley will be staging a cracking range of activities and crafts for youngsters this Easter.

As part of the Juniors at Museums (JAM) club - a free Easter duck trail will be available every day from Saturday February 8 to Sunday April 23, giving children chance to hunt for ducks around the site.

A glass craft session for children aged five and over will also take place on Saturday April 1 and will give youngsters chance to make an Easter jar.

The session costs £2.50 per jar, runs from 11.30am to 1.30pm and there is no need to book.

There will also be two bookable glass fusion sessions where families with children aged five and over can make their very own creature in glass for collection at a later date.

Easter bunnies can be made on Tuesday April 11 and glass dragons on Wednesday April 19.

Sessions run at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm and cost £4.50 per bunny or dragon. Parents need to stay with their children during the session.

There are Easter hunts taking place on Wednesday April 12 and Thursday April 13 - with sessions running throughout the day from 10.30am.

The cost is £2.50 per child and sessions need to be booked in advance.

Designer makers on site will also be running various drop-in chargeable activities and the cone coffee shop will be open throughout Easter.

Two adult craft sessions will also be held this Easter, one at the cone and one at the Dudley Archives centre.

‘Fabric faffers’ will take place at the cone on Friday April 7 from 10.30am to 12.30pm and will offer participants chance try their hand at making pom poms in a range of materials.

The session costs £5.90 and must be booked in advance.

Dudley Archives on Tipton Road will host the other adult craft class, giving people chance to try their hand at glass decorating using a range of techniques.

The session runs from 10.30am to 12.30pm and is free but must be booked in advance.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley's cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “We’re offering lots of fun activities to help keep families busy this Easter so there’s no need to be bored.

“As always we’re expecting these sessions to be very popular with our residents and I would encourage people to sign up quickly to the bookable ones.”

The Red House Glass Cone, in Wordsley High Street, is free to look around and is open 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 4pm at the weekends.
