ALDI is recruiting for nearly 50 positions for its stores in Dudley, as part of a significant recruitment drive in the borough throughout 2017.

The supermarket chain is on the hunt to fill 42 store assistant roles, two deputy store managers, one assistant store Manager and three caretakers for both its Dudley stores and the new Kingswinford store that will be opening this summer.

Marius Manolescu, Aldi regional managing director, said: “Dudley continues to be a very popular area for us, and as such, we’re preparing to open a new store in Kingswinford which has created a significant number of store staff vacancies.

“We are looking to attract applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.”

Candidates with strong numerical skills are being targeted for Aldi’s store assistant positions, at a wage of £8.53 per hour, regardless of age, to carry out responsibilities such as accurate and efficient till operation, stock management and merchandising.

Full training will be provided over a four week period and roles are available from 15 to 30 hours a week, with salaries rising to £10.15 per hour, and a realistic prospect of progression.

The discount supermarket is also seeking people with management experience for its deputy store manager positions who are expected to work closely with the store manager and the assistant store managers.

The role of deputy store managers, who will have the responsibility of managing the store team in their absence, start from 25 hours per week, with a starting salary of £9.53 per hour rising to £11.15 per hour, plus £4 extra per hour when managing the store.
