AN old church bell has been stolen from St James Vicarage in Dudley.

Police believe the bell was taken some time between March 26 and 28, from the vicarage gardens in The Parade.

The bell, which is more than 200-years-old, is one of the original church bells from Dudley's Top Church.

It was removed from the rafters due to safety concerns a number of years ago and has been in the vicarage gardens ever since.

A spokesman for Dudley Police said: "We are determined to locate the offenders and return the bell to its rightful home."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 20DY/64266N/17.
